Three days and counting!

In three days, we will be on the plane to Ethiopia! In four days, we will be with our kids! We're so excited. Actually, words can't express the feelings we are experiencing, so I won't try. I will tell you that we have learned so much through this experience...and we haven't even met our kids yet! People say parenting teaches you so much--funny how that begins before holding your babies. We have grown as people, as a couple, as Christ-followers, and...in every way. We are so looking forward to holding Jada and Bennett and watching them grow up.

Thanks for all of your love, support, encouragement, prayers, advice..everything. We have been totally humbled by all of you. Thanks.

We'll be trying to update from Ethiopia--with pictures and everything!

Exciting stuff Mr. & Mrs. Simpson! Your three days and counting theme brings up a whirlwind of emotion from one end of the pendulum to the other. For some odd reason I keep thinking of a scene from the movie Jaws when Quint is telling the story to Brody & Hooper about waiting his turn to be rescued from shark infested waters after their ship went down. It's those final moments, perhaps most terrifying and yet exhiliarating, where emotion reaches its peak...kind of like boarding a plane for Africa only to return with your lives changed forever. Kudos to you both and much love and warm wishes for all of you turning over this priceless new leaf as bigger, better, new-and-improved, Simpson clan! :-)

Leah and Dave,
What a blessing God has given both of you! It is amazing,as you said, that your children are coming home in such a short time...to a home that the Lord new from the beginning of their tiny lives! It makes me think of how God has claimed us as His own children and longs so deeply for us to just come home to Him!

I can't wait to see pictures!!!

We are so excited and happy for your family. Wow - my heart would be pounding so hard every day up until that point that I don't know how you can even concentrate. It's hard to put in to words how amazing it is raising a child so I'll just let you experience that on your own soon enough :) Looking forward to hearing how everything went and seeing some pictures!
Love,
Angie, Dave and Jackson

The Gibbes family is so excited for you and praying for you all. I hope it's OK with you, - I'm using you as a sermon illustration Sunday. Jesus calls us out of the darkness and deficiency of life without Him to a life of joy and love with Him. Your 'calling' Jada and Bennett to a better life with you seemed to really fit. So praise the Lord, they're already missionaries!
All love,
Joe
